Dan Landis
Dan Landis just turned 28, and even at this young age has achieved many accomplishments. Born into an aviation family it was only natural for Dan to get involved in both full scale aviation as well as Remote Control aviation. Dan has been flying both RC and full scale since he was just a small child. Now he is a full scale Commercial pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor as well as an accomplished UAV Pilot with hundreds of hours, most of those hours in harsh locations overseas. Several times when the UAV has been compromised Dan has been called upon to land the aircraft. All of these occasions resulted in successful landings and the aircraft was fully recovered. For these actions, Dan has been awarded a variety of medals.
Dan has been on the cover of many RC magazines and has also written numerous articles for 3D Flyer, RC Sport Flyer and Model Aviation. He competes in F3A Precision Aerobatics as well as IMAC and enjoys flying all sorts of models. He travels all over the US performing Demos and giving lectures to clubs, cub scouts, school children and the Civil Air Patrol.
When it comes to competition Dan is proud to fly airplanes that are built meticulously by his father, Richard. Using the airplanes that Richard built truly makes this a “Team Landis” flying endeavor.” Working as “Team Landis” has brought the family together creating a winning formula with a competitive edge.
